Hi, I am a book keeper of a local preschool that has been trading as a non for profit charity for over 10 years.  It has reasonable reserves and has recently moved to larger premises.  We have always reported to a committee of mothers who have always been willing and helpfully.  Over the last 2 years we cannot get volunteers for the committee.  Now we have more income we are hoping to start making long term plans and investments, which requires a longer term committment from our committee.

Would we be able to move away from the "Charity" Committee model and give management to the employees of the pre-school. Is there a model we could adopt and how would we go about changing it.

Hi Dodie,

You may need some legal advice about the transfer. Why don't you take a look at Get Legal

and see if you can find the information you need there.

Alternatively you can ask Law Works for advice online

.

Good luck and please let us know how you get on.
