Mission

Sutton Racial Equality Council (SREC) seeks to be a catalyst in creating a lasting social change by challenging injustice, disadvantage and discrimination. Established 18 years ago, along with a network of nationwide race equality councils, our mission is to work towards a just and cohesive community, in which every individual, regardless of background, has an equal opportunity to live, learn, work and enjoy leisure activities free from discrimination, prejudice or violence.

Objectives

  • To fight racial discrimination in all its forms

  • To promote tolerance and understanding between people of different ethnic backgrounds

  • To work towards  a just society, within a ethos of equality of opportunity.
