ENHANCING VOICEs... INCREASING RESOURCES

South London Partnership is a strategic collaboration of BME organisations in South London. It is the first of its kind in London. Our partners are some of key BME local infrastructure organisations working in the boroughs of Bromley, Croydon, Kingston, Merton, Sutton and Richmond. 

Purpose

  • To strengthen local BME infrastructure organisations.
  • To help BME communities effectively engage in policy and decision making.
  • To help BME organisations examine  and articulate their needs to statutory and other sectors as the voice of their communities.

Project

The South London BME Project is a major undertaking of the South London BME Partnership. This three-year project is funded by Capacity Builders and aims to develop the infrastructure of BME organisations and their communities in the South London sub-region.

 

One of the major project legacies will be increased sub-regional engagement among local BME infrastructure partners. The project is optimistic that bmelinks.org, one of its legacies will become a major catalyst for organising and coordinating the BME voice across the sub-region.

Objective

To increase the capacity of the Partnership to coordinate and develop the Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) voluntary and community sector infrastructure in six South London boroughs.

Deliverables

As a result of its enhanced capability, the partnership will do the following:

  • Strengthen governance
  • Increase resources, skills and capacities
  • Strengthen representation
  • Development of strategic plans
  • Increase mechanisms for sharing information, expertise and best practices.
