Overview

The ACEVO CEO Summit is a safe space for CEOs to openly share experiences and issues with their peers in an interactive environment in order to maintain and refresh their effective leadership skills.

May 2010 will see the general elections and a possible change in government, whatever the outcome, cuts in public spending will be the reality, and the need for strong and strategic leaders to lessen the impact on the sector is vital.

The 2010 Summit discussion will focus on new challenges that could arise from these changes and how to develop these into creative opportunities in order to strength your organisations.

Delegates will hear from influential and experienced leaders who will be able to offer sound advice and provide updates on current developments within the sector. There will also be the opportunity to gain some refreshing insight into new and innovative leadership thinking that will further professionalise the sector including how to manage the talent in your organisation and drive performance.

Topics Covered

The changing conditions the sector faces

  •  How the general election will impact third sector organisations
  • Keeping your organisation in business – the challenges and opportunities
  • Securing the right funding for your organisation
  • Diversifying income streams and competing in an increasingly competitive sector

The leadership qualities of the CEO

  • New and innovative leadership thinking for the CEO
  • The relationship between the CEO, Finance Director and Senior Management Team
  • How to implement cultural change within organisations
  • Driving organisation performance and change and whilst managing staff effectively

Learning Outcomes

The aim of the conference is for delegates to walk away feeling positive about the changes that have taken place within the government’s structure and with tangible advice on combating any challenges that this will bring. This large networking event is also an opportunity to make valuable contacts and hear about effective leadership styles and techniques.
