Overview

These events will focus on the survey performed by ACEVO on leader’s skills and how they can be supported by Government initiatives. This event is designed for you and your Chair. Charity Trustee Network (CTN) members will also be attending. This will be an excellent opportunity to network between the two organisations over a buffet lunch.

Participants will learn about the opportunities for skills development and learn how to access funding for training. It is also an opportunity to help inform the Learning Skills Council on how they should fund the sector.

Topics covered

  • Findings of the survey
  • Overview of the Train to Gain bursary process
  • A leading thinker on sector skills will speak on the importance of skill sets and their development particularly over a recession

Group discussion around

  • What skill sets do sector leaders need and what makes the sector special?
  • How training can support sector leaders skills
  • Personal experiences of the Train to Gain bursary service
  • A broker will explain how participants to access the funding of up to £1,000

Learning outcomes

By the end of the session attendees will have a clear understanding of:

  • Skill sets and their development
  • Funding opportunities for skill development
  • How to access bursary funding of up to £1,000

Participants will also have the opportunity to network between the two umbrella organisations supporting third sector trustees and chief executives.
