Diana Tickell, UK Director of Communications, Barnardo's
Barnardo’s has become well known for its hard hitting advertising campaigns. Diana Tickell will share some insights into the success of the Break the Cycle TV campaign and provide some advice on how to plan for more controversial campaigns.
Katie Randerson, Head of Brand Communications, WWF-UK
How do you help people influence governments with a positive message? WWF's annual Earth Hour involves up to a billion people worldwide who sign up to show they care about our world. At 8.30pm on Saturday, 28th March, 2008, some 13 million people in the UK said they took part by switching off their lights for an hour to show they want action to tackle climate change. This is an opportunity to hear how WWF-UK integrated a global - to - local communications campaign for Earth Hour that generated massive interest here and around the world.
Helen Ashley, Director, Upward Curve PR, an ethical PR agency.
Helen will be talking about how to create behaviour change through communications. She’ll be focusing on the environmental sector with case studies of two projects designed to encourage people to be more environmentally friendly. Helen will also talk through the range of tactics they employed including advertising, competitions, websites, media work and direct mail campaigns.
