The aim of this course is:
To provide an introduction to ‘resilience theory’ and how mentoring and befriending can help to develop resilience in your mentees or befriendees and improve their wellbeing.
This course will help you to:
- Explain the theory behind ‘resilience’
- Explore what helps people to be more resilient
- Identify the ways in which mentoring and befriending can help to develop resilience
- Develop practical approaches to building resilience which your volunteer mentors or befrienders can apply
- Incorporate the theory behind resilience into your assessments, monitoring and evaluation
