So if you work (or volunteer) for a charity, local authority, central government, business or a local group and want to better engage with a wider group of people then this course will give you the skills and knowledge you need.

A course about engaging with diverse and excluded communities on climate change and the environment.

The course will help you to

  • Gain a wider understanding of working with diverse communities and groups on climate change and environment 
  • Assess and understand the demographics of an area and the implications of these figures for your work 
  • Enhance your skills on engaging excluded organisations 
  • Understand how relevant legislation and work on impact assessments affects and informs your work 
  • Identify ways to get funding and resources for this work 
  • Develop an engagement plan to work with diverse communities and groups 

Who Should Attend? 

Anyone who wants to work better with diverse communities and groups on environment and climate change. 

So if you work (or volunteer) for a charity, local authority, central government, business or a local group and want to better engage with a wider group of people then this course will give you the skills and knowledge you need. 

Facilitators

Maria Adebowale, Director, Capacity Global, Chris Church, and David Bryan, Capacity Global Associates, have delivered training and advice on environment, climate change, diversity and equality to local authorities, charities, communities and government over twenty years.

Including - amongst others - The Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Defra, Arts Council, Jagonari Women’s Centre, BTCV, Impact, The British Council, Ruskin College, Groundwork, Mayville Community Centre and Southwark Council.

Cost

  • Large Charities, Public Sector and Businesses: £280 per person. 
  • Smaller Charities and Individuals (under 8 staff): £120 per person.

  • In House: The course can also be provided in house for groups at a date and location that suits you.
