This training is designed to give learners the required knowledge and skills to be health and safety aware and to carry out risk assessments of their environments. The course includes a short exam and is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) at Level 2.

This session will help you to:
- Understand Health and Safety legislation
- Be aware of accidents and ill health - their causes and prevention
- Know risk assessment and first aid at work
- Be familiar with personal protective equipment and safety in the workplace
- Be aware of work equipment, electricity and fire prevention
- Understand occupational health, health hazards and hazardous substances
- Have knowledge of ergonomics and workstation design, manual handling and noise and vibration
This course will be repeated on 24 March and also on 13 July 2011.
