This course explores the role of Religion, faith and spirituality within Muslim communities and their effects on internal, interpersonal and external worlds. It looks at mental health and wellbeing from these perspectives and shows how they differ from the Eurocentric model of mental health and mental illness.

This course will help you to:
- Consider what is meant by ‘spirituality'
- Explore how spirituality links in with Muslim people's identities
- Identify gaps and/or blocks in individual and agency practice
- Identify implications for workers and their organisations in relation to responding to the mental health needs of people from Muslim communities
This course is for workers who want to develop culturally sensitive mental health and other health and social care services and for anyone who wants to improve their knowledge and awareness of Religion, faith and spirituality within Muslim communities.
