Voluntary and community organisations are currently being faced with a changing funding environment and an uncertain future.
Many organisations are faced with the task of restructuring for the first time and aren’t sure of the best way to plan or implement the changes or how to vary employment contracts.
This intensive training course will help attendees to learn how to manage organisational change confidently and professionally.
Wendy Blake Ranken, author of the NCVO Good Guide to Employment, will take participants through the key aspects of restructuring your organisation, where redundancy is a likely outcome.
You’ll cover the alternatives to redundancy as well as the law which governs the handling of redundancies. You’ll learn how to plan and implement a restructure and vary employment contracts.
This one-day HR Masterclass engages participants in a small group of no more than 20 participants, with interactive exercises, case studies and discussion to help apply what you’ve learned.
What will the day include?
- Avoiding/alternatives to redundancy
- The formal redundancy procedure
- The selection pool for redundancy and selection criteria
- Notification and consultation
- Applying the selection criteria
- Breaking the news: understanding the change curve
- Trial periods and notice periods: potential pitfalls
- Dismissals, appeals and the burden of proof
- Changing terms and conditions
Feedback from our Redundancy, Restructuring and Managing Performance NCVO HR Masterclass held in March, delivered by Wendy:
“Very thorough and brilliant course plan. Good mix of exercise and theory which worked very well."
“A very clear communicator. Involved the whole group. Excellent knowledge of field and excellent presentation skills.”
