Organising events is increasingly part of the job for many of us, but is not something that most people have had specific training in. Project officers often feel thrown in at the deep end.
This event aims to provide practical, down to earth advice for people who want to make sure that their community fun day, teddy bears’ picnic, concert or outdoor theatre event is a success. It will cover issues which are common to all types of events such as planning and preparation, the health and safety of staff and people attending the event, publicity and working with contractors and artists. It will also address strategies for when things go wrong and ways of evaluating and learning from past experiences.
The event is suitable for front line staff and their managers.
