The aim of this course is:
To introduce you to peer mentoring and provide you with practical guidance on how to set up and manage a safe and effective peer mentoring project. It has been developed to help you meet the requirements of our ‘Approved Provider Standard’.
This course will help you to:
- Define the aims and outcomes of your project
- Identify key roles and responsibilities for effective management of your project
- Put into place selection and recruitment procedures
- Determine what is required to prepare participants for their roles
- Establish a process for the matching of mentees with mentors or buddies
- Identify the appropriate policies and procedures to safeguard participants
- Establish a system to support and supervise the relationships
- Set in place effective systems for monitoring and evaluation
