The aim of this course is:

To introduce you to peer mentoring and provide you with practical guidance on how to set up and manage a safe and effective peer mentoring project. It has been developed to help you meet the requirements of our ‘Approved Provider Standard’.

 

This course will help you to:

  • Define the aims and outcomes of your project
  • Identify key roles and responsibilities for effective management of your project
  • Put into place selection and recruitment procedures
  • Determine what is required to prepare participants for their roles
  • Establish a process for the matching of mentees with mentors or buddies
  • Identify the appropriate policies and procedures to safeguard participants
  • Establish a system to support and supervise the relationships
  • Set in place effective systems for monitoring and evaluation
