Peer mentoring/buddying practitioners with little or no experience of training, who are working with children and young people in education; health and social care; youth and community work settings or the youth justice sector. |
The aim of this course is:
To provide those of you with little or no experience of training, an introduction to the ‘what’ and ‘how’ of peer mentor or buddy training. It will give you the opportunity to experience a range of tried and tested activities and explore how you can adapt content and delivery to meet the needs of your own project.
This course will help you to:
- Understand the implications of learning styles on training delivery
- Identify the essential elements of peer mentor/buddy training
- Determine what activities are appropriate for your own scheme
- Adapt the activities and resources to suit your peer mentors/buddies
- Introduce feedback and evaluation into your training programme
