Befriending practitioners with little or no experience of training who are responsible for training their volunteer befrienders. |
The aim of this course is:
To provide those of you with little or no experience of training, with an introduction to the ‘what’ and ‘how’ of initial befriender training. It will give you the opportunity to experience a range of tried and tested activities and explore how you can adapt content and delivery to meet the needs of your own project.
This course will help you to:
- Understand the implications of learning styles for training delivery
- Identify what training is required to prepare your volunteer befrienders
- Determine what activities are appropriate for your own scheme
- Adapt the activities and resources to suit your own volunteer befrienders
- Introduce feedback and evaluation into your training programme
