Mentoring practitioners with little or no experience of training who are responsible for training their volunteer mentors. |
The aim of this course is:
To provide those of you with little or no experience of training with an introduction to the ‘what’ and ‘how’ of initial mentor training. It will give you the opportunity to experience a range of tried and tested activities and explore how you can adapt content and delivery to meet the needs of your own project.
This course will help you to:
- Understand the implications of learning styles for training delivery
- Identify the training needed to prepare mentors for their roles
- Determine what activities are appropriate for your own scheme
- Adapt the activities and resources to suit your own volunteer mentors
- Evaluate your training programme
