Understanding Contracts:the legal implications

In partnership with NAVCA and Michelmores Solicitors, this training day will help you to understand the common clauses and the potential pitfalls in public service delivery contracts.

Staff and trustees of voluntary organisations or local support and development/infrastructure organisations who would benefit from a working knowledge of contract law. |
A series of one day interactive training courses, held at a variety of venues throughout England. They will provide a practical introduction to contract law for the staff and trustees of voluntary sector organisations.
Training Aims
By the end of the day you will
- have an awareness and understanding of the legal status of contracts
- understand common contract clauses, legal terms and implications for voluntary sector organisations
- be aware of potential pitfalls and danger signs in order to know when to seek clarification or further advice
- understand how contracts might be negotiated following a tendering process
Overall Outcome
You will better understand the implications of signing a contract and so be better equipped to negotiate contract terms.
