Are you looking for information the new fit note and how to effectively incorporate it into your absence management procedures?

On 6 April, the fit note replaced the traditional doctors’ sick note, allowing doctors to identify when changes to working arrangements could help staff back to work sooner.

Chris Bechervaise from Acas will take you through the key differences between the new ‘fit note’ and the traditional doctors’ sick note – including what changes you’ll need to make to your existing absence policies and procedures.

This session will cover

  • Sick note and fit note: understanding what’s changed
  • The new process for managing staff who may be fit for work
  • The changed responsibilities of managers, doctors and occupational health advisors.
  • Where to update your existing sickness policies and procedures

There will be exercises including case studies to help you apply what you’ve learned in a practical context.

Light refreshments of teas, coffees and biscuits will be provided.
