Subject: Engaging external major donors

Hello everyone

I’m hoping to pick your brains. The charity I currently work for have a data base of 644 people who are categorised as major donors. We are working through these people, researching them and re-categorising them to work out who to invite to events, call to re-engage etc. – basically where and how to spend out time most fruitfully.

We are also keen to try and develop major donors externally – with new supporters who we do not already work with. I am the only member of staff who works on major donors. I also work on our major events and some corporate events so time is limited, as are our resources. We were considering perhaps working with an agency or similar body to see if they could come up with a campaign or make external approaches on our behalf.

I just wondered if anyone had ever done anything like this or could suggest any further avenues we could look into. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
