Hi all,
We're a non-profit voluntary organisation called Accede Make It Happen that works with the youth, to provide a place to socialise, take part in new things they havent tried, allow them to make friends and socialise with a vast amount of indiviuals, with different ages, enthicities, abilities and cultures. We pride ourselves in providing free play during the week for them to take part in and provide affordable cheapest rates within our borough allowing them to take part.
We've recently moved to a new community centre however the problem is our funding keeps getting pushed to a later date and we need funding quickly to pay for the rent of the building we use. However we cannot use the building until we've paid for the rent for january and febuary that includes all freeplay session and any chance of trying to put on a community event to raise some money. We did have workshops planned in the febuary half term, which we we're going to use the money gained to pay for rent for until August.
We are unsure where to turn to recieve the funding we need and wondered if anyone had ideas or advice to how we could get funding. We'd love any feedback. Thank-you.
Hi saw request through twitter...
Have you tried your local organisations like Round Table, Rotary, Rotaract, Ladies Circle, Lions Clubs?
They all raise money for local help and may be happy to either fund this outright or lend you the money so you can get going and get fund-raising.
Sorry if it's obvious and you've already tried
You say it's a community centre - who's the landlord? If it's a local council or some other local community group why not try some moral blackmail backed up by your business plan showing how much you expect to make if they let you use the premises til March on a deferred rent basis?
It's quite difficult to get funding agreed in a hurry - you could look at the Grants Online website or if you are in a rural community try your local ACRE website.
Try this website to find your local community foundation, give them a ring they can turn round small request very quickly also funderfinder is source of good ideas but you might need to visit your local cvs to get access or more advice.
There was a fund called youth opportunity fund which is closed but contact your Youth Office
