Subject: Utility warehouse - fundraising scheme

I came across a company that provides a way for community fundraisers to raise money for there chosen charity or community by helping them save money on their energy bills.
The company is called the utility warehouse discount club, they provide gas, electric, broadband, landlines and mobile phones, all at a low price, they have been voted the best providers by the Which magazine so you know they are a trustworthy company.
Let me explain how this works, anybody wanting to raise money for their community or charity can sign up as a CFR (Community Fund Raiser) they then get a pack full of posters and forms so they can advertise the services to the rest of the community, then when the members of the community switch their utility providers your chosen charity will receive a payment from the utility warehouse and then each month your chosen charity or community will receive around 5% of total amount of there bill that way your community can raise money with out people actually donating money.
Many charities are already raising money and its a very good way of generating a steady income of funds.

I agree that affinity partnerships can be a good way to provide a sustainable income, but the issue here is charities and non-profits must not sell their soul in order to provide fundraising, by working with large corporates whose ethical and environmental policy don't exactly hold up to scrutiny.
I would suggest finding partners that match your values - Good Energy and The Phone Co-op are good such examples of organisations that are highly ethical and offer the types of partnership John has described...
