CloseNewsletter about sources of help on KnowHow.
Dear friend of KnowHow
We can't pretend that these aren't tough times for us all. We've put together this newsletter to connect you with some sources of help on KnowHow and elsewhere. We hope it will help give you encouragement and inspiration.
Job hunting and personal development
Make yourself stand out from the pack by putting together an amazing application. Our CV guidance section has CV templates and a masterclass by careers guru John Lees.
Think about your future career. What do you want to do next and how can you get there? This may be an opportunity to do something completely new.
It is also an opportunity to get new skills. Find out how to develop yourself with no budget or buy a KnowHow training course for £9 in our new Study Zone!
Finally, it's a good time to use new ways of showing what you know. Give something back and have something different in your CV by writing a how-to guide.
Being a manager / leader
The how to adapt your HR strategy in tough times guide has advice about dealing with absence and redundancy.
A recent discussion on KnowHow highlighted that good communication was key to staff and volunteer morale. Find out more about communication and motivation.
Our section on managing change has lots of useful material on planning and communications.
Help for your organisation
This how-to guide 'how to close down a project or organisation' has some great tips and optimism.
Another useful guide is how to fundraise in tough times.
Use the Tools for Success online assessment tool to check whether your organisation has got the basics in place to be sustainable.
Keep in touch
The whole of KnowHow is packed with guidance to help you and your organisation become more effective. Please let us know if you can't find what you're looking for and we'll do our best to help.
Our discussion forums are also a good place to ask questions.
Best wishes,
Damien, Tom, Luke, Linden, Cristina, Matthew, Madeleine, Emma - the KnowHow team (knowhow@city.ac.uk)
