Ruth Lesirge is an experienced voluntary sector chief executive and trustee of a range of organisations. She has served as the CE of both a UK frontline services organisation and of a national policy and research (mental health and learning disabilities) foundation.

She is a Visiting Fellow at the Centre for Charity Effectiveness, where she heads the Governance consultancy practice. Recent work includes co-writing of the Governance Hub Trustee Recruitment guide, editing of the Cass Cente toolkit Tools for Success, as well as the acevo publication ‘The Chief Executive’s First 100 Days’.

She has extensive experience in undertaking trustee board reviews and training, as well as facilitating of action/peer learning groups for chief executives and senior managers. She co-authored NVCO publications ‘Tools for Tomorrow’ and ‘Getting Ready for Enterprise’ and taught on the Cass Business School Msc in Voluntary Sector Management. Ruth Lesirge Associates her own consultancy, includes coaching for chief executives and Chairs, meetings/conference facilitation and peer learning groups for a senior managers in range of national organisations including acevo.

She has a previous career as a recognised writer/BBC broadcaster in the field of in adult literacy and as the Principal of an adult and community education service.
