About Pete

Pete is the admin hub of Focus on the Child in Millcaster - he manages all the infrastructure functions: IT, payroll, finance, HR and administration, buildings maintenance, facilities, health and safety. He’s always busy and always feels under pressure from deadlines and his general workload.

Pete has a meticulous approach to his work - he's a careful plodder. His office is full of paper, files and filing cabinets and his desk is invisible beneath a pile of papers. It’s an organisational joke that sometimes people can’t actually see if Pete is at his desk as he can be hidden behind the piles of paper!

Pete doesn't have a very good work-life balance. He often works late when his wife is home to take care of their two school-age children (aged 9 and 7) and he takes work home too.

He’s been at Focus on the Child  for seven years. He has no qualifications in any of the areas he manages and knows it would be hard to find another job at the same salary level. He always intended to get a qualification but has never found the time.
