Subject: Mercedes likes to start the year with her office ship shape. What helps me?
I agree that it's great to come back in the new year to a tidy office. But what also helps me is to read all those magazines and journals that have been sitting by the side of my desk "waiting for a quiet moment". I feel great when I've read them all, energised by all those ideas I've picked up.

Well, I don't make copious resolutions which I forget by the end of the first week. I do practical stuff like reorder my bookshelves and dispose of all those books I feel I will no longer need. Like Mercedes this makes me feel that I am at least starting the year tidy - and with a bit more space!
