Ministers announce a £40 million aid package for charities dealing with the effects of the recession.

Government ministers are introducing a range of financial support measures for charities struggling with the recession. £16.5 million will be available to help nonprofit organisations with mergers and partnerships. There will also be a £15.5 million community resilience fund to help small and mid-sized community groups in deprived areas.
