Write a case study
Oct 10, 2008 by WEditor
Share your experience to help others.
KnowHow NonProfit aims to build expertise across the sector through relevant and practical content, a charity soap opera based on real-life situations, elearning modules and forums where users can talk to each other and share experience.
We are looking for case studies as illustrations of good and bad practice. Examples of this could be how you integrated social media into your communications, how you rebranded, how you found a new way to raise money, how you dealt with an ineffective board. What information would you pass on to others going through similar exercises?
Case study brief
Think about the following:
- What worked well / what didn't?
- What would you do again / not do again?
- What could you share to help others learn from your experience?
- Give some context about the situation
- Explain the outcome - was this what you expected?
- The future - what are you doing next?
- Include a short paragraph about your organisation.
Case studies should be no more than 500 words and can contain your logo, and a link to your website. We can also publish anonymous case studies.
Get involved
By sharing your experience you can contribute to this community of learning. Whether your experience has had a positive or negative outcome, it could help others learn.

Resource bank
We are also inviting organisations to share their work to build up a bank of resources. Examples of this include sample job descriptions, policies (HR, marketing, ICT), staff development plans. Many smaller nonprofit organisations don't have access to these types of materials and often don't know where to start when needing to develop their own. By organisations sharing them, we can build up knowledge and effectiveness within the nonprofit sector.
