Subject: Help needed for International Worker's HR Research

Dear all,

I am doing a small scale research. I am researching terms and conditions of employment of international workers and those employed locally within Africa, south America and Asia. If you are an international charity that employs people overseas or local people;please email me if you are interested in taking part.

It will not require much of your time, all I need is some information e.g about terms and conditions your organisation offers in terms of holidays, sickness absence, pay etc. What I will then do is to put it into a comparable table to analyse for trends.

Results will be used to help other charities set up their terms for international workers, what we want to do is help build a benchmark for international workers. Some of the charities we have spoken to are concern about breaching international employment laws of the countries they work within or are not sure how to balance benefits to UK employees with benefits for overseas workers. So we are hoping that this will shed some light on general practices and add to what we already know.

We will give all organisations that participate a copy of the final findings. We want to use the research as a terms of reference for charitable organisations with ovesease workers. From our handbook services we also know that this kind of information is difficult to access.

I would also appreciate any information of where perhaps I can access more information about the topic. I am also open to further suggestions about the issue. Also please do let me know some of the challenges you have faced employing overseas workers and how you got over them.
