Is there any chance of including an _blank HTML option when entering URL external links?

This allows the link to open in a separate tab/window.

It would also be useful for KnowHow. At the moment, people can either read your forum, or follow a link. Following a link takes them away from the page they were reading. By allowing people to enter links that open in a new tab, readers can continue to stay on your forum whilst at the same time following links they find relevant.

The only way to do it at present is to manually enter the HTML tag into the HTML code of the post. Not something I think most posters will know how to do.

Any chance of an 'edit' button for posts, too. Nothing worse than realising you've made a typo and not being able to go back and correct it.

Thanks for your suggestions.

We avoid opening new windows for links for accessibility reasons. Good practice in this area says you should only open a new window if you are telling people this is what is happening (very important for screen reader users for example). I understand that in certain situations this may be frustrating but we decided to make all our links open in the same window across the whole site. Continuity is also an important part of accessibility.

We'll look into an edit button on the posts. I thought there was one and agree you should be able to make changes to something you have written.

Thanks again.
