Subject: A charitable Christmas?

Am just getting round to starting my Christmas shopping and want to spend my money wisely. I have been looking at various charity online shops. Oxfam's shop in particular is great - can anyone recommend any others?

I also spotted CAF's pants presents campaign and the usual alternative goats. Do these really work or do people still want stuff for Christmas?

I received gifts from Traidcraft's online store:

I've also 'received' a goat in the past too, and was much more satisfied with the use of money than I would have been with a gift borne from a sense of obligation

Network for Good has a "Good Card" that serves as a gift card the recipient can spend on charity donations - so, if you gave a £20 Good Card to your friend, she could donate £5 to one organisation, £5 to another, and £10 to another, or however else she wanted to divvy it up.  It's a bit late to chime in about Christmas presents, but the Good Cards work for birthdays, too!
