Dear all,

Through the new EMPOWERMENT LEADERSHIP PROGRAMME RADAR is interested in equipping people living with Ill health, Injury or Disability (IID) to be leaders and influencers in public life, and to take up leadership positions in the public, private and third (voluntary) sectors.

A series of four Leadership Development Days will run between January and April 2010, offering a blend of skills training and personal development work.  They will be open to anyone experiencing ill health, injury or disability who has aspirations to lead and positively influence the world they are living and working in.

One of the four core action groups within the programme will be for people from the BME community, as they are under-represented in leadership and influential positions.

The Leadership Development Days are taking place on:

•        18th January 2010; Manchester, Greater Manchester Centre for Voluntary Organisation (GMCVO)

•        22nd February 2010; Birmingham, BVSC – The Centre for Voluntary Action

•        16th March 2010 Manchester, Greater Manchester Centre for Voluntary Organisation (GMCVO)

•        21st April 2010; Birmingham, BVSC – The Centre for Voluntary Action

If you like to become involved in the programme, please follow this link where you can find the application pack in different formats http://www.radar.org.uk/leadership/downloads.aspx  Please read the information regarding the programme, fill in the application form and return it to RADAR by the 18th December 2009.

Also, if you know someone who might be interested in taking part in this programme please feel free to forward the link or circulate the information  around your network/members.

If you have any questions in regards to the application pack, the Empowerment Project in general or if you need the information in a different format, please do not hesitate to contact either me (carina.schmoldt@radar.org.uk) or David Stocks, RADAR's Empowerment Manager (:David.Stocks@radar.org.uk" href="mailto:David.Stocks@radar.org.uk">David.Stocks@radar.org.uk).

We are looking forward to hearing from you.
