How will public sector cutbacks affect infrastructure organisations and councils for voluntary service? Opinions from the NAVCA CORE (Chief Officers' Residential Event) Conference in June 2010.

BackgroundKnowHow at NAVCA CORE Conference June 2010

The NAVCA CORE Conference was a chance for NAVCA members’ chief officers to discuss the outcomes of the 2010 general election and its repercussions for infrastructure organisations.

A major theme of the event was to try and find ways that infrastructures can turn the looming funding crisis into an opportunity.

If you missed out, or just want to remind yourself of some of the themes that emerged from the event, our podcast presents the thoughts of the main speakers and many of the delegates.

List of speakers

  • Rolande Anderson, Director General of the newly named Office for Civil Society (formerly the Office for the Third Sector)
  • Matt Leach, Chief Executive of Capacity Builders
  • John Tizard, Director of the Centre for Public Service Partnerships
  • Karen Constantine, of the National Equality Partnership
  • Susanne Rauprich, Chief Executive of the National Council for Voluntary Youth Services
  • Justin Davis-Smith, Chief Executive of Volunteering England.
