About the Charity Effectiveness podcasts
From the credit crunch and the recession to capitalising on the green shoots of recovery, the third sector has faced some tough business challenges in 2010. With a new government settling in, it's essential that managers and trustees know that their organisations are fit for purpose, effective and competitive.
Throughout 2010, KnowHow, in collaboration with Society Guardian, has produced these podcasts to provide solutions to some of the key challenges facing the third sector.
The podcasts:
What makes a good leader?
One of the issues raised by the Big Society debate is the need for great leaders in civil society. Where do they come from? Do we grow them from within, or look to other sectors for inspiration? And what is it that makes them great?
Social enterprise: opportunities and challenges
The current climate has opened up real opportunities to rethink the way we provide local services in a more sustainable way. Are social enterprises the future?
Campaigns, conferences and cuts
Round table debate: challenges facing civil society
Panel debate on the future challenges facing civil society, and the problems in finding a suitable name or brand to encapsulate the sector.
Third sector ministers on general election 2010
Interviews with the third sector ministers from each of the main political parties captured in the run-up to the general election 2010.
Big Society and charity sector MPs
Big Society - what will it mean for UK charities and social enterprises? And how will new MPs from a charity background help represent the sector in parliament?
Cuts and the future of infrastructures
